Berlin, 1906: In order to produce his own furniture designs, Wilhelm Altendorf built a machine saw on which the workpiece is guided over the saw blade on a sliding table. Over the course of the following century "the Altendorf" became a legend, and the company became the world market leader for sliding table saws.
